Spring has Sprung
So I guess I should update this thing again. It has been a busy enough few weeks and I suppose that merely posting links to awesome videos that I have found on youtube.com doesn't really count as an update. But while I am on the subject, if you are British and feel like checking out this tv commercial of the best pub football team in the world click here.
Honestly, if you have any appreciation of English history of the beautiful game you will love this.
So what have I been upto. Well over Easter I headed over to York where I met up with a few of my old law school chums and also saw my uncle and aunt again (those being the uncle and aunt who were kind enough to put up with me for all of my time at law school over there).
Upon my return I hightailed it to Belfast Airport where I picked up my cousin three times removed (something like that) and my Queens friend Robin who is living in London this year. I had a great time with them for a few days showing them some of the sites of N.Ireland and even managing to find time for a little surfing.
The coolest thing we did though was what is known as the Black Cab Tour. This was unlike any other tour I had ever been on and so much better for that reason. Basically, what you do is arrive at Belfast City Hall and call this Taxi Company. They send one of their cabs round with a driver who proceeds to bring you round some of the political hotspots of Belfast. The thing is that these drivers have been in Belfast for 30 years and as such no more about the Troubles over here than most. It really was fantastic, the driver simply asked us what we wanted to see and then spent the next two hours bringing us to those places and explaining what everything meant. Like I say, I think that having lived here for many years, I understand what happens but I knew nothing of some of the stuff this guy was telling us. It really was just incredible if not extremely tragic.
Now, it is back to the grind. Some of you may know that whilst I am an apprentice with the firm I am with, I do still have to write some exams as well as several papers. Let me assure you this is very much sucking the life out of me. Still, just one month to go.
On top of that it is a beautiful day in Ireland and Liverpool are in FA Cup Final so I guess I can't complain too much.
Alright, that's my lot for now. I will try to talk again more soon.
